第 15 课:Visiting the Palace Museum-3

G:The whole complex can be divided into the inner court and the outer court.

The former is the emperors' residential area,

the latter is the place where the emperors dealt with court affairs and held important ceremonies.

Let's start with the outer court.

T:What's this stately hall here?

G:Well, it's one of the three halls in the outer court, the biggest of the three .

It's called the Hall of Supre-me Harmony.

T:It must be the main hall.

G:You're right. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, important ceremonies such as the enthronement of a new emperor, royal birthdays, or the pronouncement of important edicts were held here.
