第 5 课:On the Way to the Hotel-6

G:It's 44000 square meters, perhaps one of the largest squares in the world today.

The seven bridges in front of Tian'anmen are called the Golden Water Bridges.

In ancient times, only the emperor and empress could walk on the bridge in the center.

T:That's rather interesting. What about that building?

G:That grand building contains two museums.

The northern half is the Museum of the Chinese Revolution and the southern half is the Museum of Chinese History.

In the center of the square is the Monument to the People's Heroes.

T:What do the Chinese characters in its north face mean?

G:"Eternal Glory to the People's Heroes!" They are in Chairman Mao's calligraphy.
