Mel: Hey, that's a very nice hairdo you're wearing!

Janet: Oh you're exaggerating. I'm never really good at making hairdo.

Mel: You did it yourself? Wow, you are good!

Janet: Thanks for saying so, but my husband thinks otherwise.

Mel: He's just got no idea of how good you are.

Talk 2:

A: Many congratulations on your winning the game.

B: That's very kind of you, but it's nothing special.

A: You were doing great out there!

B: Well, actually it's just about luck.

Talk 3:

A: What a nice photo you've taken!

B: I'm flattered, but really anyone else could do it.

A: You have a real talent, Ellen!

B: I'm thinking of making an album, you know.

Talk 4:

A: How smart of you to book the tickets before hand!

B: Oh, do you really think so?

A: Of course, otherwise you'll just have to wait for hours.

B: But I just got a call from my sister and I have to cancel the movie tonight.

Talk 5:

A: I've gotta hand it to you: you really did a good job!

B: So glad that you think so!

A: I think you deserve a promotion.
