The official World Cup web-site will screen highlights, but not in real time. I totally agree with FIFA, because first of all, it does protect its revenue. The technology is there already, not only to offer high quality coverage on the internet, but also to be able to restrict it territorially which is one of the major issues for a lot of sports federations they're worried that coverage of their sport can be seen worldwide.
