Of all relationships, marriage remains the most important goal for the majority in Britain, and once it has taken place in seen as one's priority obligation and main concern in life. 对 大 多 数 英 国 人 来 说， 婚 姻 关 系 是 众 多 关 系 中 最 重 要 的， 一 旦 发 生， 就 成 为 一 个 人 的 主 要 义 务 和 生 命 中 的 大 事。

Although there are a wide range of views on marriage and the view that sex should be reserved for marriage is not widely held, the moral and the romantic ideal of total commitment to "the other forever" is a widely held aspiration if not expectation. 尽 管 对 婚 姻 的 看 法 形 形 色 色， 但 持 贞 操 一 定 要 留 给 婚 姻 的 人 并 不 是 很 多，不 过 大 多 数 人 所 持 的 还 是 那 种 “一 旦 约 定， 终 身 厮 守” 的 道 德 和 浪 漫 的 理 想 观 念。

Opinions about pre-marital sex vary with age. Some Asian young people will have marriages arranged by their parents but it is stated in their law that anybody over 18 has the right to choose their own partner. 些 亚 裔 年 轻 人 的 婚 姻 是 父 母 包 办 的， 但 法 律 也 有 规 定 18 岁 以 上 的 人 都 享 有 婚 姻 恋 爱 自 由。

It is illegal to marry or to have sexual relations under 16, but marriage between the ages of 16 and 18 is possible with parental consent. 同 未 满 16 岁 的 人 结 婚 或 发 生 性 关 系 是 违 法 行 为。 但 如 果 经 过 父 母 同 意 也 可 以 同 16 － 18 岁 的 人 结 婚。
