Most invitations are made by telephone or in person. 请 客 多 半 用 电 话 或 当 面 提 出。

Occasionally, for a formal party or dinner, an invitation requires an answer, either in writing or by telephone, but even if a reply is not requested, it is still courteous, to let your host know whether you expect to attend. 应 邀 出 席 正 式 宴 会 或 晚 餐， 不 管 是 用 书 面 还 是 用 电 话， 有 时 是 要 回 复 的， 不 过 即 使 不 要 回 复， 为 了 礼 貌， 也 应 该 让 主 人 知 道 你 是 否 参 加。
