Do Business Wordwide - New Marker

Chen: Hello, Simon! Have you read the article in the newspaper this morning about a newly independent country in Africa? It says its per capita income is rising fast.

Simon: Apparently they're going to build a lot of new factories, and I think it might be a good market for us to enter.

Chen:I think we should do a market survey to find out exactly how the firms in that country prefer to buy their products.

Simon: That's a good idea.

Chen: This country is a new market, and I think it could prove to be very lucrative.

Simon: Yes, we must export more. You really must try to convince the Managing Director that we are crazy not to look for more foreign business.

Chen: Will you back me up?

Simon: Yeah, of course I will. I'll do what I can.

Simon: How are things going with our new market? I heard we haven't got a single order.

Chen: It's a bit early to say. As a matter of fact, I think there may be something moving out there. We have been asked for a quotation for a very large order.

Simon: What are the chances of getting it?

Chen: We've already sent pro forma invoices so that the firm can apply to the bank for foreign exchange.
