童话故事第 24 课: Mother Holly 荷 莉 妈 妈-3

She took her by the hand and led her to a great gateway. 荷 莉 妈 妈 拉 着 姑 娘 的 手 ， 把 她 带 到 大 门 口 ，

The gate opened, and as the girl was standing just under it, a shower of gold fell over her, and all the gold hung on her clothes, so that she was covered from head to foot. 大 门 开 了 ， 姑 娘 站 在 门 底 下 时 ， 一 阵 金 雨 朝 她 落 下 来，金 子 全 粘 在 她 的 衣 服 上。 这 样， 她 身 上 从 头 到 脚 都 粘 满 了 金 子。

"You shall have all this because you have been so industrious," said Mother Holle, and gave her, besides, the spindle which she had let fall into the well. “你 很 勤 快 ， 所 以 应 该 得 到 这 些 金 子。” 荷 莉 妈 妈 说。 随 后 又 把 姑 娘 掉 在 井 里 的 纺 锤 还 给 她。

Suddenly the gate was shut with a bang, and the girl was up above in the world again, not far from her mother's house. 突 然 砰 的 一 声 ， 门 关 上 了， 姑 娘 上 去 了， 重 新 回 到 人 间， 离 她 母 亲 的 家 不 远。

Then the girl went in to her mother, and because she was covered with gold she and her sister received her kindly. 姑 娘 到 母 亲 那 儿 去 ， 她 浑 身 粘 着 金 子， 母 亲 和 妹 妹 都 友 好 地 接 待 她。

The girl told them all her adventures, and, hearing how she had come into such riches, the mother planned that her ugly, lazy daughter should get her share too. 姑 娘 把 自 己 的 奇 遇 告 诉 了 她 们。 母 亲 听 到 她 如 何 得 到 这 么 多 的 财 富 时， 就 打 算 要 她 那 又 丑 又 懒 的 女 儿 也 得 到 一 份 儿。

She sent her to spin by the well, and, to make her spindle bloodstained, she pricked her finger and put her hand into a hedge of thorns. 她 把 自 己 的 女 儿 送 到 井 边 去 纺 线。 为 了 使 纺 锤 上 沾 上 血 迹， 懒 姑 娘 刺 破 手 指 。

Then she threw the spindle down the well and jumped in after it.然 后 ， 她 把 纺 锤 扔 到 井 里， 接 着 自 己 也 跳 了 下 去。

Like the other, she came to the beautiful meadow and followed the same path.
她 和 另 一 位 姑 娘 一 样 ， 来 到 美 丽 的 草 地 上 ， 沿 着 同 一 条 小 路 往 前 走 ，

But when she reached the oven and the bread shouted, "Take me out, take me out, or I shall burn,"走 到 炉 子 眼 前 ， 面 包 叫 道 ： “ 把 我 拿 出 来 吧！ 把 我 拿 出 来 吧！ 不 然，我 就 烤 焦 了。”

the lazy girl answered, "I don't want to dirty myself, thank you," and continued her walk. 懒 姑 娘 却 回 答 道 ： “ 我 不 想 把 自 己 弄 脏， 谢 谢。” 继 续 走 她 的 路。
