童话故事第 33 课: Blue Lamp 蓝 灯-3

The little man took his hand and led him through an underground passage, not forgetting to take the blue light too. 那 个 小 人 儿 牵 着 他 的 手， 领 他 走 过 一 条 地 下 通 道， 他 也 没 忘 了 带 上 那 盏 蓝 灯。

He showed him on the way the treasure the witch had collected and hidden here, and the soldier helped himself to as much gold as he could carry. 路 上 小 人 儿 让 他 看 女 巫 收 藏 的 金 银 财 宝。 士 兵 拿 了 他 能 带 得 走 的 许 多 金 子。

When he was above ground he said to the little man, "Go, please, bind the witch hand and foot, and take her before the judge." 他 到 达 地 面 后， 对 小 人 儿 说： “ 请 你 去 把 那 个 巫 婆 的 手 脚 捆 上， 送 到 法 官 那 里 去。”

Then the little man said, "Sir, I await further orders." 后 来， 小 人 儿 又 说： “先 生，我 等 着 别 的 命 令。”

"The soldier replied," Just now I have nothing more for you to do; you can go home, only, if I call you, be ready."士 兵 说： “眼 下 我 没 什 么 事 要 你 做。 你 可 以 回 家 了。不 过， 随 时 准 备 着 ， 我 一 叫 ， 你 就 来。”

"It is not necessary to call," explained the little man, "You have only got to light your pipe with the blue light and I shall be beside you at once." And he instantly vanished.“用 不 着 叫 ，” 小 人 儿 解 释 说， “ 你 只 要 用 蓝 灯 点 烟 斗 ， 我 马 上 就 到 你 身 边 来。” 说 完 就 不 见 了。

The soldier went back to the town. He went to the best inn, bought fine clothes, and ordered a room to be splendidly fitted up for him. 士 兵 回 到 城 里 去 ， 他 走 进 一 家 最 好 的 旅 馆 ， 买 了 漂 亮 的 衣 服， 叫 人 为 他 布 置 了 一 个 陈 设 华 丽 的 房 间 。

When it was ready, he summoned the black mannikin and said, "I have served the King faithfully, but he sent me away to starve, and now I wish to be revenged on him." 准 备 好 了， 他 把 小 人 儿 招 来，对 他 说：“我 忠 实 地 为 国 王 效 力 ， 他 却 把 我 打 发 走， 让 我 去 挨 饿 。 现 在 我 要 对 他 进 行 报 复。”

"What am I to do?" asked the little fellow. "Go in the night to the palace, and bring me the King's daughter to be my maid-servant."“我 做 什 么 呢？” 那 个 小 人 儿 问。“夜 里 到 王 宫 去，把 国 王 的 女 儿 带 来， 给 我 当 女 佣 人。”

On the stroke of midnight the door sprang open, and the little man brought in the King's daughter. 午 夜 钟 敲 十 二 点 的 时 候，门 突 然 打 开 ， 小 人 儿 把 国 王 的 女 儿 带 来 了 。
