童话故事第 59 课: Brave Tailor 勇 敢 的 小 裁 缝-5

While he lay there people came to stare at him, and read the inscription on his belt, "Seven at one stroke!" "Ah!" they thought, "this must be some great hero. They went and informed the King, and said that if war should break out this man would be useful, and he must not be allowed to go away. 他 们 报 告 国 王 说， 如 果 爆 发 战 争， 此 人 有 用， 别 让 他 走。

The King fell in with the idea and sent one of the courtiers to offer the tailor, when he should wake, a post in his army. 国 王 同 意 这 个 意 见， 派 一 名 朝 臣 在 小 裁 缝 睡 醒 后， 建 议 他 在 军 队 任 职。

The messenger stood watching the sleeper, and on his stretching his legs and opening his eyes, made the offer. 使 者 站 在 那 儿 看 着 睡 觉 的 人， 等 到 小 裁 缝 伸 伸 腿 ， 睁 开 眼 睛 时， 就 提 出 这 个 建 议 。

In a certain wood in his dominions lived two giants, who by murder, rapine, and plunder worked great mischief, and nobody dared risk their lives in confronting them. 在 国 王 的 领 土 上 有 一 座 森 林， 里 面 住 着 两 个 巨 人。 他 们 杀 人、 抢 劫、 盗 窃 ， 危 害 很 大 ， 谁 也 不 敢 冒 生 命 危 险 同 他 们 对 抗。
