A: Have you found a new job yet? 你找到新工作了吗？

B: No, not yet. I’m still looking. I’ve been doing some work through a temp-agency though. 没有，还没有找到。我还在找。但是我通过一家中介公司介绍在做短期工。

A: What kind of work? 那是什么样的工作？

B: I’m temping at a pharmaceutical company. 是一家制药公司的短期工。

A: What do you do there? 你在那儿做什么事？

B: Mostly office work - filing and so on. 大多是办公室里的事情--存档之类的。

A: How long is the assignment? 做到什么时候呢？

B: Till the end of the month. 到这个月底。

A: Want to meet for lunch this Saturday? 这个星期六一起吃午饭吗？

B: Sorry, I can’t. I’m busy. 对不起，不行。我很忙。

A: What are you doing? 你在做什么？

B: I always do volunteer work on the first Saturday of every month. 我每个月的第一个星期六总是要做义工。

A: What kind of volunteer work? 是什么性质的义工？

B: I help out at the children’s hospital. I help plan activities. 在儿童医院帮手。帮忙组织活动。

A: Oh, yeah? 哦，是吗？

B: Yeah. It’s exciting. This month we’re doing crossword puzzles. 是呀，很令人兴奋。这个月我们要做字谜游戏。

When I was a student I was broke, so I took a part-time job to help support myself. 我读书的时候真是穷得叮当响，因此我做一份兼职工作赚钱养活自己。

I needed something that wouldn’t interfere with my class schedule. 我需要一份不与我的课程安排相冲突的工作。

I found a job at the local supermarket working twenty hours a week in the evenings.在当地的超市我找到了一份工作，每个星期在晚上干20个小时。

Mostly I took inventory and stocked the shelves. 工作主要是编列存货清单，填充货架。

The work itself wasn’t so interesting and it was hard for me to find the time to study.工作本身不太有趣，而且自己也挤不出时间来学习。

It was good for me though; I got some practical working experience and I learned a lot about how to manage my time. 但还是有好处的，我获得了一些实际的工作经验。而且还学会了更好地分配自己的时间。

And plus, money. I mean, hey, who can complain about that?” 而且，我还能赚钱。我的意思是，我可没有什么抱怨的。
